25-year-old man in custody after SWAT standoff in Dayton neighborhood

A 25-year-old man was taken into custody after a SWAT standoff in a Dayton neighborhood early Tuesday morning.

Around 3:51 a.m., Dayton police were dispatched to the 250 block of Sandhurst Drive, according to a Montgomery County Regional Dispatch Sergeant.

Dayton Police Sergeant Jordan Alexander told News Center 7 that crews were initially dispatched on reports of a man inside the house who was believed to be suicidal.

A 911 caller told dispatchers she was on the phone with her ex-boyfriend, who was saying he was going to commit suicide. She said she heard a gunshot, and the male went silent, according to Dayton police…
