Columbus, Ohio – Drivers across central and western Ohio could face dangerous crosswinds by the early Friday commute as a powerful windstorm ramps up, bringing gusts near 60 mph capable of knocking down trees and cutting power across the region.

According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, a High Wind Warning is in effect from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday for much of central and western Ohio as well as parts of eastern Indiana.
