Dayton-Saint Louis conference tournament game ended in the wildest sequence

Saturday’s Atlantic 10 tournament semi-final game between the Dayton Flyers and Saint Louis Billikens ended with a wild sequence of events.

The favored Billikens held a one-point lead with 20 seconds to go in the game at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pa. Dayton was able to corral an offensive rebound off a block, and Jacob Conner knocked down a three to put Dayton ahead 68-66.

On the ensuing possession, Saint Louis’ Robbie Avila stormed down the court and hit a three of his own with just under seven seconds left. Undeterred, center Amael L’Etang was able to tip in a missed shot by Jordan Derkack with 0.3 seconds left, putting Dayton ahead for good 70-69…
