Caleb Flynn, who once appeared on American Idol faces charges of murder, and as he’s a former pastor, he attracts a lot of attention from true crime followers. This week, he reappeared in a court in Tipp City Ohio, so we have a few updates on the case.
The Charges & Arrest
Previously, we reported that Caleb Flynn was charged with murder, felonious assault, and tampering with evidence. What we knew towards the end of February, was that the police initially responded to a 911 call and assumed it was a home invasion. However, some things don’t tie in with his version of events.
In the most recent update from Law&Crime’s Chris Stewart, it seems like the “crying pastor” seems keen to get the trial over and done with.
The Hearing This Week
During Monday’s hearing, the judge set a trial date for April 28, so it seems rather fast. In fact, in less than a month, true crime followers can expect to see some of the trial start out.
What seems most interesting, is the fact that the defense team for Caleb don’t seem at all fussed about filing a time waiver. Notably, that could suggest that they believe they have a strong case for innocence. So, it might suit them to get the process going as fast as possible.
Camera Footage
Stewart aired a bit of footage of the day the crime went down, and it showed just how hysterical Flynn was. While he hyperventilated and people tried to calm him down, there was also a hint of skepticism by the attending officials about the believability of his tale. Notably, that related to no signs of a break-in.
The former contestant from American Idol faces some serious charges for the death of his wife, Ashley.
The state claims that he shot her and then tried to manipulate the crime scene. However, the camera footage seemed a bit forced.
What Is The Next Step?
Currently, Caleb Flynn’s bond stands at $3.5 million. It should be an interesting case, because the prosecution alleges that Flynn shot his wife twice in the head. Notably, their young kids were sleeping in the house at the time. And then, he allegedly staged a burglary…
