ARCANUM – Behind a dominant performance on the mound from Regan Christ and timely offense in the middle innings, Arcanum earned a 4-1 non-conference win over the Covington Buccaneers.
Christ was nearly unhittable, striking out 17 batters over six innings of work while allowing just two hits and one unearned run. The right-hander also walked one in a commanding outing.
“Regan was lights out pitching – he was on today,” said Arcanum coach Randy Baker. “He had a good slider today, had a good changeup, which is huge.”
Covington scratched across its only run in the top of the fourth inning, taking advantage of an Arcanum error and a wild pitch to grab a 1-0 lead.
“We had an error and a passed ball in the same inning,” Baker said. “That’s how they scored their run.”…
