DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF) — Those at Rabbit Hole Books are continuing their struggle with the City of Dayton to reopen the store.
As previously covered, Rabbit Hole Books was one of the buildings impacted by a garage fire in an adjacent parking garage in February, leading to an inspection that led to the discovery of violations, including exposed electrical wiring, damage to the facade, no fire alarm system, extensive damage to rebar within the concrete and more.
Since then, the store has faced a notification of public nuisance, causing the sidewalk to be closed, as the City said bricks had fallen from the building. Rabbit Hole Books, as well as the business next door, Lisse Beauty Bar, moved to protest the City, an act they reported to show they were not easily moved…
