Indians wins Granville district, Lakers lead finishes in St. Paris; Saturday boys track & field

Area boys track and field athletes delivered strong performances Saturday, May 23, at multiple OHSAA district meets, with several teams capturing district titles and dozens of athletes earning regional berths. Mechanicsburg highlighted the day by winning the Division V district championship at Granville, while West Liberty-Salem claimed its fifth consecutive Division IV district title in Troy. Athletes from Indian Lake, Urbana, Benjamin Logan, Graham, Calvary Christian, Riverside, and other area programs also turned in standout performances as the top four finishers in each event advanced to regional competition.

OHSAA Division V District – Granville

Mechanicsburg Boys – District Champions (121 points)

Mechanicsburg captured the Division V district championship in dominant fashion, totaling 121 points behind multiple event titles, relay qualifiers, and strong field-event performances.

Beckett Negley led the Indians with district championships in both distance races, winning the 1600 meters in 4:25.80 and the 3200 meters in 9:47.55. Negley also added a runner-up finish in the 800 meters with a personal-best time of 1:57.53…
