Security raised as arrest made in new MARTA violence

ATLANTA, Ga. — Another act of violence at a MARTA station is adding to growing concerns. A man is now behind bars in Douglas County after what police are calling a targeted shooting.

MARTA police say 42-year-old Anthony Gresham shot a man in the arm and leg on a train at the Midtown MARTA station. Officers say he ran into a wooded area when they tried to approach him, but was later captured after a multi-agency search.

A deputy’s account is revealing more details about a dog attack over the weekend that took the life of a 3-month-old girl.

This comes just days after federal officials announced they’re investigating MARTA following two recent stabbings, one of them deadly. MARTA’s police chief says they’re planning security upgrades ahead of the World Cup, including adding up to 150 officers and extending shifts on match days…
