When Soraya Khoury opened Hen Mother Cookhouse in Johns Creek in 2018, the location did not come with the reassuring advantages of an established restaurant district.
The small Jones Bridge Road space sat in a suburban shopping center where previous dining concepts had struggled. Khoury was a first-time restaurant owner, relatively new to metro Atlanta and attempting to build a serious breakfast-and-lunch destination in a storefront with only about 25 indoor seats.
