A federal lawsuit accusing Georgia prison officers of failing to protect an inmate who was fatally stabbed at Baldwin State Prison is moving into a new phase as attorneys reviewing records produced by the Georgia Department of Corrections under a court-ordered confidentiality agreement and protective order.
U.S. District Judge Tilman E. Self III entered a protective order on Wednesday governing records GDC produces in response to a subpoena in the lawsuit filed by Gary Moore, the father and anticipated administrator of the estate of Vincent Dyer. The order went into effect on Aug. 20, 2026.
