Mayor Alberta McCrory of Hobson City Receives National Mayor of the Year Award at Prestigious Black Business Conference

Hobson City, AL – In a momentous recognition of her leadership and dedication, Mayor Alberta McCrory of Hobson City was honored with the National Mayor of the Year Award at the 124th National Black Business Conference. The award, a testament to her outstanding contributions to the Black business community, was presented during the Booker T. Washington Pan-African Awards Gala on August 24, 2024, at the Hilton Atlanta Hotel in Atlanta, Georgia.

The National Mayor of the Year Award is one of the highest honors bestowed by the National Alliance for Black Business. It celebrates the exceptional efforts of mayors who have significantly advanced economic opportunities, community development, and social justice for Black communities. Mayor McCrory’s selection as the 2024 recipient highlights her tireless work in transforming Hobson City, Alabama’s oldest African American incorporated municipality, into a thriving center of Black entrepreneurship and cultural heritage.
