‘My wheels keep spinning’ | Metro Atlanta drivers abandon their cars after ice renders roads impassable

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – A day after about an inch of snow covered parts of metro Atlanta, sub-freezing temperatures have turned the powder into ice, rendering some roads impossible to pass.

From major interstates to side streets, hundreds of people have abandoned their vehicles on the side of the road. DeKalb County alone, which has issued a state of emergency and shelter-in-place recommendation due to the slippery roads, has tallied more than 100 stranded cars.
