An incident escalating from a traffic violation to a major drug bust was reported after East Point Police pulled over a gray Nissan Sentra that ran a red light at the intersection of Washington Road and Camp Creek Parkway began when an officer addressed a noise complaint on Sunday. During the stop, the driver — a woman whose identity has not been released — admitted to recently smoking marijuana inside her car, subsequently leading to the discovery of a wide array of narcotics and a loaded handgun, Atlanta News First detailed.
Following a strong odor of burnt marijuana emanating from the vehicle, a lawful search was conducted by officers, revealing nearly 50 grams of Ecstasy, about 148 grams of packaged marijuana for distribution, over 5 grams of suspected cocaine, more than 20 grams of THC wax, two suspected oxycodone pills, a digital scale with residue, multiple prepackaged bags of marijuana, and $915 in cash. A loaded handgun was also found within the car, ultimately leading to the suspect’s arrest on multiple drug and firearm charges, as reported by FOX5 Atlanta.
