‘All of the sudden there’s a loud bang’: Teen finds sheriff’s gun in Wendy’s, fires it

COVINGTON, Ga. (WXIA/CNN Newsource/WKRC) – A Texas sheriff will not face charges after his firearm was accidentally fired by a teenager in a Wendy’s bathroom in Georgia.

The incident occurred when Grayson County Sheriff Tony Bennie left his gun in the restroom while attending to his 5-year-old grandson.

“I put my drinks down on the table and all of the sudden there’s a loud bang. You’re going to sit in stunned silence for a second but my initial reaction was, oh my god,” said Heather, a witness who was inside the restaurant with her children.
