Woman arrested, accused of stealing taxi at gunpoint in Gwinnett County, police say

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – A woman was arrested after allegedly stealing a taxi in Gwinnett County, according to Norcross police.

Marleni Escamilla Morgad, 31, faces charges of kidnapping, hijacking a motor vehicle, armed robbery and driving with a suspended or revoked license. She is being held in Gwinnett County Jail without bond.

On July 31, police were called to a QuikTrip off Jimmy Carter Boulevard, where a driver for the Brookhaven-based service Ok Taxi said a woman took his Hyundai Tucson at gunpoint. According to the man, he was going to pick someone up at the Doraville MARTA station, but the woman got inside the car instead…
