The frontman of the Atlanta-based band Silly Goose, Jackson Foster, was arrested following an impromptu show that took place in the parking lot of a gas station in Chicago, shortly after their performance at the Lollapalooza music festival. In a statement obtained by FOX 5 Atlanta, the band is reported to have made an arrangement with the gas station owner to perform for $100. However, as the crowd size grew unexpectedly large, the station manager grew concerned and alerted authorities.
The incident quickly escalated when responding officers found “several people were surrounding a van with a band on top playing music at an extremely high volume,” according to police reports cited by NBC Chicago. Responding officers had to eventually intervene and use emergency lights along with a prerecorded message to instruct the “unruly” crowd to disperse. Foster was then charged with criminal trespassing and is expected to return to Chicago in early September for court.
Famed for their energetic performances, Silly Goose carries the flame of late ‘90s rap rock and nu metal, striving to “Make good music, have fun, and make the people happy,” as the band communicated.
