A former DeKalb County Super District 7 Commissioner was recently ordered by judges in federal appeals court to pay $100,000 in damages and legal costs to two women stemming from an incident that happened more than a decade ago.
The ruling from the federal appeals court occurred on Aug. 4 after Stanley Watson, who also represented DeKalb County in Georgia General Assembly for 12 years, falsely accused two women of stealing his wallet, repeatedly demanded their arrest, and threatened police officers who refused to cooperate, according to published case information.
