Two projects currently under construction will add grocery stores, retail, and more to Avondale Estates, Decatur, and nearby neighborhoods.
Construction is nearly completed on Galore Market in Avondale Estates, which sits at Sam’s Crossing along East College Avenue. According to officials with Avondale Estates and Urbanize Atlanta, the corner building at 2711 East College Ave., once a tire shop, is being transformed into a market with approximately 2,300 square feet of interior space and 700 square feet for an outdoor patio. A selection of organic foods along with beer and wine will be stocked at Galore Market, stated officials.
Approximately a 10-minute drive south, in unincorporated Decatur, signage has gone up for a $28.9 million project known as Candler Crossing where a full-service Publix grocery store, multi-tenant retail space and public amenities are scheduled to be built…
