Decatur elementary school could close because there aren’t enough students enrolled

City Schools of Decatur is considering closing an elementary school due to declining enrollment, with a decision process currently underway.

Channel 2’s Michael Doudna attended a work session on Tuesday, where board members discussed the process of potential school closures, for Channel 2 Action News at 6:00 p.m.

The district currently has five elementary schools: Clairemont Elementary, Glennwood Elementary, Oakhurst Elementary, Westchester Elementary and Winnona Park Elementary. Leaders have not decided which one, if any, could close and consolidate into the others…
