The first sign that Decatur’s newest entertainment spot is different is the somewhat mysterious procedures to gain entrance.
A suspendered greeter guards the entrance of RoSo Treasury on W. Ponce de Leon Avenue and is pleasant but not forthright about exactly how one gains admittance. After a bit of friendly banter, he shares that the establishment—a bank—is closed but under certain conditions one can enter. (Not wanting to reveal too much, I’ll leave it at that…except to add the password is “I want to visit my safe deposit box.”)
Eventually one ventures down a flight of stairs and along a long hallway which leads to a vault door that opens if one remembers the instructions given upstairs. Through that door, one steps into Roaring Social Decatur, a speakeasy themed bar, restaurant, and music venue…
