ATLANTA — KIPP Atlanta Collegiate went into a lockdown on Wednesday morning after a report of a shooting at the park across the street, the school told 11Alive.
11Alive’s Chase Houle went to the scene on Calloway Drive near the school on Atlanta’s Westside, where an Atlanta Police investigation was underway. APD has not, to this point, confirmed a shooting investigation.
“We are aware of a reported shooting that occurred earlier today across the street from our KIPP Atlanta Collegiate campus. While this incident did not take place on our campus, our school was placed on lockdown to ensure the safety of our scholars and staff,” a KIPP Atlanta Schools statement said. “That lockdown has since been lifted, and normal operations have resumed. The safety and security of our school community remain our top priority. Given this is an ongoing investigation, any further questions should be directed to the Atlanta Police Department.”…
