Atlanta Police Charge Man With Murder After Fatal Shooting of 15-Year-Old Who Investigators Say Attempted to Rob Him on Turman Avenue

Atlanta, Georgia — Police have arrested and charged a man in connection with the fatal shooting of a 15-year-old boy, who investigators say was attempting to rob him during an incident last month on Turman Avenue. Authorities identified the suspect as Kevin Veasey, who was taken into custody on Monday. According to police, the teen was shot and killed during the confrontation and died at the scene before emergency responders could revive him.

Ring Camera Footage Captured Police Response

Residents in the area reported witnessing the commotion on the night of December 16. One neighbor, Saba Talib, said her Ring camera recorded the moments officers arrived.

“It looked like they were just trying to revive the kid,” Talib told Channel 2’s Candace McCowan.

Another neighbor, who asked not to be identified, said she called 911 because she feared for her safety after hearing the disturbance.
