Bystander critically injured in shooting at Atlanta restaurant, police say

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — A bystander is being treated for injuries after she was shot at a Downtown Atlanta restaurant Tuesday morning, according to police.

Atlanta police officers responded to a shooting at Summit Cafeteria, located at 30 Marietta Street NW, after 7:30 a.m. Police say Georgia State University Police officers were nearby and first to respond.

According to police, two GSU officers detained a person who they believed to be the shooter, coming out of the restaurant with a firearm in their hand. The person was confirmed to be the shooter and was taken into custody by Atlanta police…
