Any Cobb students who take part in a planned walkout to protest U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Friday will be subject to out-of-school suspension and other disciplinary actions, the Cobb County School District announced Tuesday.
“We are aware of efforts by external groups to recruit students for a rally regarding ICE on Friday, January 30, 2026,” the district said in a statement to their website. “Their campaign asks students to leave class and/or authorized school areas during the school day, which would disrupt school operations and distract students and teachers.”
According to the Instagram account Abolish.ICE.Georgia, several walkouts are planned for high schools around Cobb, including Lassiter, North Cobb, Allatoona, Kennesaw Mountain, Sprayberry, Harrison, South Cobb, McEachern, Wheeler, Osborne, Campbell and Marietta…
