Cobb Schools issues warning ahead of planned walkout

Any Cobb students who take part in a planned walkout to protest U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Friday will be subject to out-of-school suspension and other disciplinary actions, the Cobb County School District announced Tuesday.

“We are aware of efforts by external groups to recruit students for a rally regarding ICE on Friday, January 30, 2026,” the district said in a statement to their website. “Their campaign asks students to leave class and/or authorized school areas during the school day, which would disrupt school operations and distract students and teachers.”
