Poor safety procedures led to train hitting MARTA employee in 2024, federal report says

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — A report from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has revealed what led to a MARTA employee being hit by a train in 2024, resulting in a leg amputation.

According to the investigation, “insufficient” worker safety procedures contributed to the incident. The designated watch person was also doing something else when the train approached, the report said.
