Police: Homeless man accused of assaulting girlfriend with hot coffee in Acworth

Dylan J. Ross, 26, of Atlanta, is accused of pouring hot coffee on his girlfriend on Feb. 17 at 7 a.m. at Hometown Lodge, 3475 Baker Road in Acworth, according to an arrest warrant from the Acworth Police Department.

Ross and his girlfriend were staying at the hotel, where they had reserved a room for two weeks. Prior to this, the pair had lived together in a homeless camp in Bartow County. On Feb. 17, Ross suspected his girlfriend of being with another man and reacted violently by flipping the mattress, pulling down the blinds and pouring coffee on her. Police noticed redness on the woman’s face, neck and knee along with a bruise under her right eye and the room being disarray. The victim stated that Ross had thrown hot coffee on her and spilled coffee was found on the floor, according to the warrant.

Ross is charged with battery – family violence. He was arrested Feb. 17 at 7:49 a.m. and booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, according to jail records…
