‘He did not deserve to die’ | Widow seeks answers after husband killed near Denver skatepark

DENVER — One week after a 28-year-old father of four was shot and killed near a Denver skatepark, no arrests have been made, leaving his family looking for answers. Denver Police responded around 11 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, to the intersection of 20th and Little Raven streets, where they found Jacob Hensley suffering from a gunshot wound. He later died.

Allison Hensley, Jacob’s wife of 10 years, said she saw her husband less than an hour before the shooting. She said he arrived at their apartment that night extremely drunk which, she said, was unlike him.

“The kids were going to sleep and he was like falling and I was like, you know, you need to leave or go in there to that room,” she said. “He went back outside and he never came back home.”…
