Aurora Police Department body camera footage released Friday shows officers’ attempts to de-escalate a mental health crisis situation before an officer fatally shoots Amare Garlington.
The footage shows Aurora’s Crisis Response Team calling Garlington from outside the house and telling him he is not in trouble. Later, the footage shows the moment Garlington ran out of the apartment and stabbed Ofc. Mark Moore and K-9 Cyrus with a knife.
