DENVER — When Claire Naumer was 11 weeks old, her parents walked through the doors of Anchor Center for Blind Children looking for support after learning their daughter had microphthalmia, a condition that prevented her eyes from fully developing in the womb.
Eighteen years later, Naumer stood before her graduating class at Evergreen High School as valedictorian, one of many former students whose lives have remained connected to the Denver-based organization.
