Those traveling through Colorado should know that US 6 through the scenic Clear Creek Canyon of Jefferson and Clear Creek counties has been closed as of early June 25 due to a rock slide caused by heavy rain.
According the Colorado Department of Transportation, the slide is about 175 feet long and three feet deep, located west of Tunnel 3. Crews are working to clean-up the rocks and mud and to investigate the area, likely to determine if additional safety concerns exist.
