Evergreen saloon to reopen Thursday evening after flash flooding cleanup

EVEREGREEN, Colo. (KDVR) — Flood cleanup is still underway in Evergreen after heavy rain sent water, mud and debris rushing through parts of town overnight, but one well-known saloon is now preparing to reopen just hours later.

At Cactus Jack’s Saloon and Grill, crews spent the day clearing out mud and damage after the parking area briefly turned into fast-moving water.

“I got here around 12, 12-ish, and this was all full of water. The whole parking lot was full of water, and the kegs floating, the empty kegs of beer, empty beer kegs floating,” said Gary Mitchell, owner of Cactus Jack’s Saloon & Grill.
