A young man died Friday after he fell off a paddleboard at Cherry Creek State Park and drowned, according to Colorado Parks and Wildlife.

He was paddleboarding with a child south of the swim beach just before 4 p.m. when both of them fell into the water, the agency said in a news release. Neither of them was wearing a life jacket, according to witness reports.
