Due to my work helping new and expanding entrepreneurs in Grand County, I’ve been very interested in the progress of the Mountain Rail commuter rail service planned for linking Denver to Grand County.
So, I went to the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) offices in Denver and talked to the director of the Mountain Rail project, Scott Gilman, directly. I learned a lot and was reassured that, yes, this mountain rail daily commuter train is still planned to start this year, linking Denver to Granby (the western terminus) with stops in between to include Arvada, Winter Park and Fraser.
So I had to pinch myself again to help me realize that this incredible gift and asset for Grand County’s economic development is a reality. Frankly, it sounded too good to be true when it was originally discussed in public meetings two years ago. And yet, it’s going to happen…
