Timing, totals and temperature for spring weekend storm

DENVER ( KDVR ) — Saturday is a Pinpoint Weather Alert Day due to heavy snow in the mountains and wet conditions in the Denver metro.

Denver might have had its last snowstorm of the season , but the winter weather isn’t over in the mountains.

While the metro will see rain and wet conditions on the road, that precipitation could turn into slush and ice on mountain roads, with some places seeing up to and over a foot of snow, according to Pinpoint Weather Meteorologist Travis Michels.

Timing

In the metro, scattered showers will move in starting Friday afternoon.

In the high country, the snow will start around Friday afternoon as well, and continue through Saturday, according to Michels.

The precipitation will stick around until Sunday, but the majority of the rain and snow will fall on Saturday.

Totals

Scattered showers move through the Front Range this weekend, with the Denver metro seeing the most amount of rain with a total of 1.3 inches by the end of the weekend.
