Black Bears in Our Backyard: 1 p.m. Wednesday, Betasso Preserve, 377 Betasso Road, Boulder. Black bears are busy gorging on berries and other food in preparation for their long winter sleep. Relax and unwind while listening to beautiful, improvised music in the Canyon Theater. Looming Legends workshop: 2 p.m. Wednesday, Carnegie Branch Library, 1125 Pine St., Boulder. Presented by Steven Frost at Carnegie Library and inspired by Queer History Month, this three-hour workshop will guide participants in using mini-tapestry looms to create abstract and/or representational portraits of famous queer figures. With a nod to local history, the workshop will include a brief lecture on 2SLGBTQIA+ history in the area.
