2 brothers left living a ‘nightmare’ after crash kills entire family

THORNTON, Colo. ( KDVR ) — Two brothers who lost their entire family in a crash in Colorado on Saturday were hoping what had happened was only a “nightmare.”

It was not.

Their father, Francisco Diaz; mother, Beatriz Nunez, and two younger sisters, Paola and Nataly Diaz, were all killed in the crash. Police said one of the vehicles caught fire after being hit.

Since then, 22-year-old Daniel and 20-year-old Adam Diaz have been trying to be strong for each other as they work on funeral plans.

“At this time, it’s really hard for the both of us because we are really close to our family because we all lived together,” Daniel told Nexstar’s KDVR.

The crash happened at an intersection around 8 p.m. Saturday.

“I was going to eat and that’s when … I get a notification that my little sister Paola had been in a crash-detected SOS,” Daniel said.

The Diaz brothers say police told them their parents were stopped at a red light when another vehicle slammed into the family’s car. The impact launched their vehicle into the intersection where it was broadsided by another vehicle, the brothers said.
