CSP trooper hit in multi-car crash on US 36

DENVER ( KDVR ) — A Colorado State Patrol trooper was taken to the hospital after a multi-vehicle crash on U.S. 36 during a snowy Wednesday morning.

CSP told FOX31 that at 6:06 a.m., a semitruck driving eastbound on U.S. 36 jackknifed and caused a partial block of the eastbound lanes. Troopers were then called to the scene to assist.

While troopers were on scene, a second crash occurred. CSP said the crash appeared to involve at least three vehicles, including a state patrol car parked on the highway.

CSP said no serious injuries were reported, but the trooper involved in the crash was taken to a local hospital for precautionary measures.
