DENVER ( KDVR ) — After significant snowfall in Denver weather throughout the week, thousands of Coloradans are without power Saturday.
Xcel Energy said in a press release Saturday that it has crews working to restore power outages caused by the snow.
Totals: How much snow fell across Colorado in early November storm
As of 11:20 a.m. Saturday, according to the Xcel Energy outage map , 18,352 customers were without power across the state.
As of 6 p.m., that number is down to 6,140. A vast majority of the outages are concentrated in the Denver metro area.
Xcel said the restoration efforts will take time as the storm caused a high amount of outages impacting individual properties or small groups of customers. As of 6 p.m., Xcel reports 336 outage orders across the state.
“Crews typically focus first on repairs that will restore power for the largest number of customers. After that, crews will move to the neighborhood level, before handling individual customer outages,” Xcel Energy said in the release.
