People often think of Denver when it comes to cities with large homeless populations. But even the Arapahoe County suburb of Littleton is dealing with a substantial homelessness problem.
That’s why the Hornbuckle Foundation is hosting a “Sleep out!” event to raise money for Connections of Hope, it’s dedicated peer outreach program. “The program helps unhoused individuals in Arapahoe County find stability and recovery,” according to a news release. “With the goal to raise $5,000, the event highlights the Foundation’s ongoing efforts to assist vulnerable community members in accessing treatment, sober living, and support services essential for sustained recovery and dignity.”
According to Director of Program Outreach Donna Norton, “Individuals often feel isolated and overlooked, and that’s where our peer support specialists come in. With shared experiences, they offer genuine understanding and a pathway to hope, which is often the first step to recovery.” In addition to Littleton, the Foundation serves Englewood, Greenwood Village and Centennial.
