The Colorado Buffaloes College Football Playoff hopes got a lot better after Week 12 as the Buffs dominated Utah in a big win, and BYU lost to Kansas in a stunning Big 12 upset.
Shedeur Sanders threw three touchdowns for Colorado and continued his impressive season as Travis Hunter added a touchdown of his own, this time in the rushing game.
However, Hunter’s touchdown against Utah was supposed to go to Sanders, according to what the Colorado quarterback said after the game.
Reporters discussed the play in a post-game press conference, and the Colorado signal-caller had an honest response, saying, “It was really supposed to be my touchdown.”
“If you want to be honest. He took my shine on that one…That was supposed to be my touchdown,” he continued.
Sanders handed the ball to Charlie Offerdahl, who then handed it to Hunter. But, instead of Hunter throwing a pass, he ran the ball up the middle with the pocket collapsing, resulting in a 5-yard score.
Sanders believed that he “could’ve ran a better route” on the play before Hunter rushed it in for a score.
