Suspect dead in armed barricade situation in Littleton

DENVER ( KDVR ) — A shelter-in-place was issued for a Littleton neighborhood Tuesday afternoon during a reported armed barricade .

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene at the 6500 block of South Webster Street, a residential area near Woodmar Square Park.

The sheriff’s office said the shelter-in-place was issued to residents in the area while multiple units responded to an armed barricade.

Shortly after 4 p.m., the sheriff’s office said the suspect died of an apparent suicide and the situation was resolved.

At this time, some roads in the area are closed and the sheriff’s office said to avoid the area.
