DENVER ( KDVR ) — The National Western Stock Show delayed its opening parade through downtown Denver as the incoming forecast shows cold and potentially snowy weather on Thursday morning.
Originally, the Kick-Off Parade was planned for Thursday at noon, where Longhorn cattle, horses and western wagons would parade through the streets. However, the parade announced on Wednesday that it would be pushed back an hour.

“The decision was made in coordination with the National Weather Service, city officials, and transportation advisors to ensure the safety of animals, riders, parade participants, and spectators. Adjusting the start time will allow for improved conditions during the event,” said the stock show in a press release.
A Pinpoint Weather Alert Day has been issued on Thursday morning due to slick roads and a fresh coat of snow during the morning commute.
