DENVER ( KDVR ) — Coloradans in many areas of the state woke up to a fresh blanket of snow Saturday morning.
Saturday is a Pinpoint Weather Alert Day due to weather impacting travel with snowy road conditions and hundreds of flight delays at the Denver International Airport.
How often does Denver get heavy snow?
More snow is expected to fall, tapering off Saturday evening for most areas. But as of Saturday afternoon, there’s a decent amount of fresh powder on the ground with as much as 10 inches measured in Boulder County and four inches in Denver.

Before this weekend, Denver had accumulated 33.9 inches of snowfall so far in the season, with about a third of that coming during one storm in early November that dumped nearly half a winter’s worth of snow .
