K9 sniffs out nearly $1 million worth of fentanyl on I-70

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) – On Monday, around 10:25 p.m., the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said their deputies stopped a black Ford Explorer for speeding on I-70 near Harlan Street.

After stopping the driver, the sheriff’s office said the K9 team was called in to assist with a narcotics investigation. The sheriff’s office said K9 Anton then alerted to drugs in the back of the vehicle.

After searching the vehicle, deputies said they found 4.9 kilograms of fentanyl. The sheriff’s office said this equals around 50,000 pills and would be worth about $1 million…
