Second man to be sentenced for role in deadly rock throwing spree

DENVER ( KDVR ) — On Friday, Zachary Kwak, 20, will be sentenced as one of three people responsible for the deadly rock-throwing spree that killed 20-year-old Alexa Bartell.

Kwak, who was in the car during the incident, pleaded guilty in May 2024 to one count of first-degree assault, one count of second-degree assault and an added count of criminal attempt to commit assault.

As part of the plea deal, previous charges were dismissed, and he will serve no less than 20 years but no more than 32 years.
