New speed camera in small Colorado town cites nearly 2,500 people in 4 months

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Colo. — The tiny municipality of Mountain View has installed a new speed enforcement camera along a stretch of Sheridan Boulevard that has long been known to be a speed trap.

The camera went live on Jan. 1 and catches people breaking the 35 mph speed limit as they drive south on the westside of Sheridan Boulevard, just within the boundary of Mountain View.

9NEWS filed a records request with the town for data on the new camera and according to a response from the town clerk, the camera has issued 2,495 citations as of May 5…
