Cannabis and Coffee Lounge Under Construction

Denver’s historic Patterson Inn will soon unveil a unique amenity for the city’s alternative hospitality scene: a cannabis lounge and coffee shop within a boutique hotel. A concept called The 420 Denver is in the works in the basement space of the property — aptly addressed 420 East Eleventh Avenue — according to Westword.

Cannabis advocate Chris Chiari has owned the Patterson Inn for seven years. He was the first person to apply for a cannabis hospitality license after the city opted into the program in 2021, and subsequently formed The 420 Hotel Inc., a reefer-friendly resort company for which the Patterson is the flagship location.

He explains that The 420 Denver will be a state-licensed, bring-your-own-cannabis (BYOC) lounge with an occupancy of about 25 patrons. It has been in the works for many years, but permits were just granted in February, he shared on LinkedIn. The lounge is now under construction and he expects to wrap up work in five to eight weeks…
