Identity released of Aurora 15-year-old killed in Hoffman Park shooting

AURORA, Colo. (KDVR) — The 15-year-old victim in a Sunday shooting in Aurora has been identified.

On Sunday morning around 12:30 a.m., Aurora police responded to reports of a shooting at Hoffman Park, next to Aurora Fire Station No. 2. They found two victims, a 20-year-old and a 15-year-old girl, with serious injuries. The 15-year-old was taken to the hospital, but died shortly after arriving. She has been identified as K’tahna Jordin Smith.

Man sentenced to life without parole after deadly rock throwing spree

Firefighters were the first to find the victims after returning from a call. One 15-year-old was grazed by a bullet but refused medical care. Social media shows Smith went by Jordin. Youth violence prevention advocate Jason McBride says he’s had many people in his office speaking highly of her.

“Some of these young people are outstanding and are just in the wrong place at the wrong time, and this girl, by all accounts, had a bright future, was loved by almost everyone, and now it’s just this tremendous loss,” McBride said…
