What’s been dubbed a ‘wild moose chase’ took place in Colorado in recent days.
According to the Arvada Police Department, a three-year-old female moose was spotted roaming around in the area of West 75th Avenue and Simms Street on May 29. This is a residential area on the northwest side of the Denver metro that’s not exactly close to ideal moose habitat – about seven miles from where the elevation gain of the Front Range foothills starts.
The police department contacted Colorado Parks and Wildlife about the situation, with wildlife experts of that agency indicating that the moose had traveled too far east from the wildland west of the Denver metro and that the moose would need to be tranquilized for capture and transport back into the mountains…
