A Colorado man was arrested after he allegedly attempted to kidnap an 8-year-old girl twice in one day at a Safeway store in Littleton, while she was shopping with her grandmother. The incident was interrupted by the grandmother’s quick actions and intervention from store employees.
The Attempted Kidnapping
On Saturday, 34-year-old Bradley Mikel Wilson approached the 8-year-old girl and her grandmother in the produce section of the store. According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Wilson placed his hands on the girl’s shoulders and then asked the grandmother, “May I borrow your child?”
Wilson attempted to lead the girl away from her grandmother, but the grandmother quickly reacted by yelling, which allowed the girl to break free and return to her.
Wilson then left the store, but not before attempting the same action again. He returned to the store, where he tried to take the girl a second time. This time, store employees noticed the situation and intervened, chasing Wilson out of the store.
Wilson’s Arrest
After fleeing the store, Wilson got into his vehicle and drove away. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies were quickly called to the scene and tracked Wilson’s vehicle down on a nearby highway.
